Deal Radar is a privately operated application designed to identify and assess potentially valuable second-hand goods from marketplace listings and notifications.
Operator contact: info@grangeway.co.uk
Deal Radar connects to an authorised Gmail account through Google's Gmail API using the gmail.readonly permission.
This permission technically allows the application to read messages in the authorised mailbox. However, Deal Radar's current routine configuration retrieves Gumtree marketplace alert emails using a restricted search query.
Deal Radar does not send, modify or delete Gmail messages.
Deal Radar temporarily reads email content into memory to extract relevant marketplace listing information.
The current scheduled Gmail processing implementation is configured not to save complete email messages, sender addresses or email subjects.
It does store derived listing information, such as product titles, prices and related listing details, together with message identifiers, processing status and provenance records in its locally operated database.
These derived records may contain information originally supplied by marketplace advertisers.
The current Deal Radar application does not send Gmail messages or information derived from them to any external AI inference service.
No external AI integration is currently active in the application's Gmail processing workflow.
Deal Radar does not use data obtained from Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve or train general-purpose or non-personalised artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Any future change involving external AI processing of Google user data will require a separate assessment, appropriate authorisation, and updated privacy disclosures before activation.
Deal Radar does not sell Google user data, provide it to advertising networks, or use it for advertising or unrelated profiling.
The Gmail integration communicates with Google's services to authenticate and retrieve authorised messages.
The current application does not intentionally transfer Gmail-derived listing information to third-party AI services.
Extracted listing data and processing records are held in a locally operated database. Relevant records may also exist in operator-managed database backups.
Automated retention and deletion procedures are not yet fully operational. Derived records currently remain stored until they are manually removed or an implemented retention process deletes them.
Gmail access credentials are stored separately from the application's browser interface.
Gmail access can be revoked through the connected Google account's security settings.
Revoking access prevents further authorised retrieval but does not automatically erase listing records previously stored by Deal Radar.
Requests concerning locally stored information can be directed to the operator using the contact details above.
Deal Radar's use of information received through Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.
Google user data is used only to provide the disclosed marketplace-discovery functionality.
This policy will be updated when Deal Radar materially changes the information it accesses, how it processes that information, or the services with which it shares data. Where required, additional consent will be obtained before those changes take effect.
